unfortunately, Meta does not allow removing the blue circle Meta AI icon. you have limited options to retake control, but you might still want to take action on those options.

mute Meta AI chat

  1. open the Meta AI chat

  2. click the three dots ⋮ at the top of the screen

  3. click on Mute notifications

  4. choose Always

clear Meta AI chat history

  1. open the Meta AI chat

  2. click the three dots ⋮ at the top of the screen

  3. click on More

  4. click on Clear chat

reset Meta AI chat data

  1. open the Meta AI chat

  2. type /reset-ai in the chat to remove Meta AI data

  3. type /reset-all-ais in the chat remove Meta AI data from group chats

block your chats from triggering Meta AI

while Meta AI does not have access to your chats by default, Meta AI can tagged in any chat by you or the contact you're chatting with, and can be used to summarise content, ask questions or create images based on your chat contents.

unfortunately, this ability must be disabled in each individual chat.

  1. go to any chat in your WhatsApp history

  2. open the contact's settings by pressing their name at the top

  3. click on Advanced chat privacy (or Restricted chat in newer WhatsApp versions)

  4. enable the setting

note: this setting will disable other features as well, read the info on your WhatsApp screen carefully before proceeding.

archive Meta AI chat

  1. another step you can take to hide the AI chat is to archive it or block the chat if available to you.
