disable Google Workspace smart features

Google Workspace smart features enable AI features across multiple Google apps, such as Keep, Drive, Gmail, etc.

1. go to Google Chat (this is the easiest page to access the settings from)

2. open Settings

3. go to Data privacy

4. press Manage settings

5. toggle Smart features in Google Workspace to off

6. toggle Smart features in other Google products to off

note: an alternative way to access these settings is through Google Drive settings > Privacy > Manage Workspace smart feature settings

disconnect Gemini as connected app

Gemini comes connected to Drive by default, with no option to fully remove it, but you can turn it off.

1. go to Google Drive settings

2. go to Manage apps

3. uncheck Use by default for all apps that have the words Gemini, Opal or any other AI tools in them
